There are very few people with no skin defects at all. Most of us have some little, or not so little, defect we’d like to get a treatment for, whether it’s just a mole, or a birthmark, or more extensive, like the wrinkles of aging, or a scar that won’t shrink.

Human skin demands daily care because it’s constantly protecting us from environmental elements, such as wind, sun, pollutants, chlorine in pools, etc. Skin has layers and the top layer, which is all dead skin cells, is continually shedding. The layers underneath produce new replacement cells which rise to the top, and in their turn, die and shed.

This continual assault from the environment and continual renewal of skin tissue means that continual skin care is a requirement if we want our skin to remain in optimum shape. Over the years, small irregularities develop, the skin texture coarsens, small eruptions may leave little scars, and roughness develops.

Daily cleansing and moisturizing is essential, but more can be done.
