Non-Surgical Fat-Reducing Options?

Many of us have dealt with unwanted fat deposits in various parts of our body we would rather not have, and if you are a bit squeamish about surgery or are not in good enough health to undergo surgery at this time, there are non-surgical fat-reducing options available such as Coolsculpting in Denver. Coolsculpting is a non-invasive procedure that freezes fat to slim and tone key areas so you’ll look slimmer and shapelier. And it’s pain-free, there’s no recovery time involved, and it’s much less expensive than surgical fat-reduction procedures.

There’s a very interesting story behind how the Coolsculpting concept was developed a few decades ago. At Harvard in the 1970’s, doctors were confused as to why a group of children had been losing fat in their cheeks. The doctors discovered that the children had been sucking popsicles frequently—that was the only thing all the children who had been losing fat in their cheeks had in common. Later, scientists who studied the process of cryolipolysis (the freezing of fat) gave this theory some attention, and doctors soon developed the first Coolsculpting machine to reduce minor accumulations of excess fat.

The Coolsculpting Process

By now, you must be wondering how Coolsculpting in Denver actually works. The team at ReDerm MD Medical Spa will use of a small or large (or both) paddle-like applicator that’s attached to a hose that provides the cold. Each paddle has two panels with 3,000 sensors on each side, and a gel pad is placed over the area being treated (to protect your skin).

CoolSculpting is turned on, and once it’s running, the applicator securely pulls up the area being treated between the two panels where it remains for the duration of the treatment. After a few minutes, you’ll begin to feel intense cold, which is usually accompanied by stinging, tingling, aching, and even a cramping sensation. When the area becomes completely numb, those sensations will disappear, and we’ll make sure your completely comfortable while the procedure continues on.

After an hour, we will remove the device and will massage the treated area for a moment or two to restore normal blood flow. In addition to a bit of cramping again, you may see a temporary whitening or reddening of the treated area, which may also feel stiff. This is all temporary and in no time at all, you’ll be feeling like a million bucks!
